It’s not worth crying because the life is carnival!!!

There are a lot of versions and facts of appearance and development of Salsa as both musical and dance trends. But, at least, one fact is similar for them: the father of Salsa is considered to be Cuban sone – rhythm appeared in the begining of 20 century in Cuba as affected by preceding Latin American, French, and, of course, African rhythms.

And it’s much better to live singing, it’s not worth crying!!!

In the 30s Caribbean rhythms affected sone greatly. The 50s was time of general passion for the rhythms of mambo, cha-cha-cha and Cuban rumba, which also affected the birth of salsa as music. In the 60s in the USA grand concerts were held, where Latin American performers presented their “new invention” – the rhythm of “boogaloo”-- something different from modified Cuban sone mixed with merengue, bosanova, cumbia, cha-cha-cha, mambo and boogie-woogie. Latin American dance orchestras were extremely popular, music sounded everywhere, including feature films and TV programs. Latin American dance schools instructing heat Latino rhythms were spread everywhere. Little by little they were leading to what we call Salsa now, both music and dance!
